There are many variables to consider when selecting your fractional co2 laser treatment and one component often overlooked is the laser device that will be used for your procedure. Although most of your results are in the physician’s hands, the laser does make a difference in your results.
If the laser is a fractional co2 laser then more than likely it will provide you the results you are looking for. It will not offer the dramatic results experienced with tradional co2 resurfacing but will provide better results than the skin tightening lasers like Titan or the older fractional resurfacing lasers like Fraxel. There is a lot of information here about the various laser procedures here so you should read up on them prior to selecting your laser

I am a little confused. I had the fractional co2 procedure completed on 11/18/10 for mild/moderate acne scarring and wrinkles. I am extremely pleased with the improvement in my tone/texture but to date there is little improvement with wrinkles and acarring. I understand that I may need more than 1 procedure, will have the 2nd procedure in January, and that it may take 3-6 months to see improvement in these areas. What is confusing me is the different titles, i.e., Fraxel Repair, SmartXide, Mixto, Pixel co2. Are these just actual names of the brand or are these differing types of the procedure and is any one better than the other for acne scarring?
Thank you for your help,
Robin
