This is a Fraxel Re:store not a Fraxel Re:pair gallery displaying the results that some patients received for the treatment of their acne scars.  Some of the scarring was more severe than others and required more treatments.  Most of these results are after at 4-5 laser sessions.  The Fraxel Re:store laser that was used was the SR1500 which uses the gel and has deeper penetration.  These patients received their treatment from a Highly Skilled Dermatology Physician Assistant and a Cosmetic Dermatologist.

Improve Your Skin From The Inside Out

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Here is a great article written by a General & Cosmetic Dermatologist.  Thought this is interesting data about the improvement of ones skin by way of omega 3 fatty acids.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids… Why are they important for your skin?

By Dr. David Harvey, MD, FAAD, FACP

What are Omega 3 fatty acids?

Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids. They are essential to human health but cannot be manufactured by the body. For this reason, omega-3 fatty acids must be obtained from food. Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in fish, such as salmon, tuna, and halibut, certain plants (including purslane), nut oils, and the natural peruvian grain Salvia Hispanica (Fig. 1). Omega-3 fatty acids play a crucial role in brain function as well as normal growth and development.

Laser Resurfacing

Lasers are currently the most effective exfoliation tools for eliminating wrinkles. Their unique advantage over other resurfacing methods is their ability to tighten the skin. A successful procedure can make patients look 10 – 20 years younger, and the results can last for up to 10 years.

Laser Resurfacing on Asian Patients

Monday, May 11th, 2009

Laser resurfacing for Asian patients can be very difficult and should only be performed by trained laser specialists. The darker the complexion, the more risk for hypopigmentation and other adverse reactions.  Fractional Co2 Laser resurfacing has proven to provide great results but the physician has to be very careful to ensure the correct settings are used.  As with most lasers, the physician will need to be more conservative in the treatment and will probably recommend multiple laser procedures.  Fraxel has been used for years now and has provided great results to patients that may not have been eligible for laser treatments in the past.   The only issue with Fraxel is that you will need multiple treatments to receive the desired outcome and with most asian patients the physician has to be more conservative with settings thus requiring even more treatments.  With the new fractional co2 laser, many patients in countries like the Phillipines are seeing dramatic results when the laser is in the right hands. Filipinos and other patients of Asian decent are excited about this new technology because of the skin conditions in times past were only treatable by cosmetic

Notice the great improvement from the fraxel resurfacing
