Laser Treatment Questions

Selecting the Right Laser Specialist

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

Remember to do your research and ask the questions before selecting the physician to perform your next laser treatment.  This site is a big proponent of using a physician to perform your laser procedure as they are more qualified and better trained to understand the associated risks of the various laser procedures.  In rare cases you may find a very well trained Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to perform your procedure but you should only decide to do this after seeing before and afters and speaking with former patients who had the same procedure.  You are making an investment into the most important item you possess, your BODY, this is why you need to spend the time necessary to ensure a wise investment.  Although, risks are minimal and side effects rare, they can still happen and you need to minimize this risk by having your procedure performed by a well-trained provider who will stand behind his/her work.

Laser Resurfacing

Lasers are currently the most effective exfoliation tools for eliminating wrinkles. Their unique advantage over other resurfacing methods is their ability to tighten the skin. A successful procedure can make patients look 10 – 20 years younger, and the results can last for up to 10 years.

There are so many lasers out there now and everyone claims to have the best and most innovative technique to help your skin.

SmartXide Dot Therapy

There are many users of the smartxide dot fractional CO2 laser resurfacing device and many doctors love the device. Doctors want the best results for their patients and they are unwilling to buy something before they have the opportunity to test it. The Fraxel Re:pair is a great example. Fraxel has been unwilling to allow most physicians with an opportunity to try before you buy and with their price tag a lot of physicians are looking at other options. The smartxide is a great laser but in no way is the only great laser out there. Other companies offering similar equipment for a similar price are:SmartXide Dot Laser Device
